I mean, ‘little ol Boxlock’ “responsible for the future consequences”….Wow! Buddy, you’re not listening very well. I readily admit I have very little...

Game thread: NCAA first-round Portland State v. Texas A&M
CORRECTION: Smith is back on the court to build her assists. She's got two in building that Aggie lead to 80-53. GAME OVER: Blair put junior guard Maryann Baker in the game, resting Smith, which is the equivalent of waving the flag to call the game. It doesn't look like PSU has another burst in them and it certainly won't carry them past the...

Interesting wiki-links
The other thread like this was pretty fun, so here's a more open thread about wikipedia. Post links and basic information about articles in quote form, not just the links Cosmic latte - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote: Cosmic Latte is a name assigned to the average color of the universe, given by a team of astronomers from Johns Hopkins...

Where things stand
WHERE THINGS STAND.... So, where are we? Here are some key health-care-related developments from the afternoon: * Rep. Chris Carney (D) of Pennsylvania, believed to be a Stupak ally, announced he will vote "yes" tomorrow. Carney also voted "yes" in November. * In a key setback, Rep. Zach Space (D) of Ohio switched from "yes" to "no," the first such...

Another Chicago trip - Funeral, museums, friends, and food.
Topping off... 20.11mpg in mixed local driving. On the highway I got no better than 23mpg thanks to having a 3-speed automatic. My DIN Ford Taurus cupholder only accomodates small drinks and cans, and thats only if you remove the ash tray. BLARGH Visibility in central Illinois was poor, and it got even worse than this for about 50 miles. Yay...

Comment on Friday Open Thread – Secret Societies by Chris M
Just trying to provoke some discussion but I’ll work on my rhetoric. I agree control is never total but I wish there was more resistance or at least awareness. I believe the system plays on or worst instincts, but those aren’t our only instincts. Humans have contradictory impulses. Sure we can be competitive, agressive, and greedy but we can...

Well being an Okie I was hoping OK St would win. Since they didn’t well I guess I will root for NIU and KST. Can’t help thinking that WSU played NIU better than KU did. What does that say.

Catholics vs. Catholics: Villanova-St. Mary's Open Thread
Anyone who watched 'Nova during the past ten games would know they were vulnerable to a team with a good big man. Unlike last year's run, their front line lacked talent and experience. I'm an alumnus and didn't pick them to go past the Sweet 16. Gratefully, Kansas' loss will be the big story today (whew) ren0901

I just think some of the more outlandish conspiracy theories should be buried or at least taken as entertainment only. Questioning the powers that be is a great thing the ridiculous jump to conclusions is disappointing. The French Revolution as well as the American and other liberal democratic revolutions of 1848 were rife with real secret...
